Recognition procedures for approval
of courses
Students who travel
abroad
When you travel for a period of study as an exchange student with
ERASMUS, you take along a completed learning agreement that has
been signed by a special subject teacher at your own institution,
the receiving institution, and you yourself. It specifies the
courses you shall be taking at the receiving institution. For
students from Diakonhjemmet University College, this is equivalent
to advance approval of the courses that are specified. Students
from Diakonhjemmet University College who travel to the USA will be
given an equivalent scheme.
When you return to Diakonhjemmet University College from your
period of study as an exchange student, you must submit a
Transcript of Records to the International Office. If you have
completed the agreed courses with approved results and there is
accordance between your learning agreement and the Transcript of
Records, the period of study abroad will be automatically approved.
If there is not accordance between your Transcript of Records and
the specifications of the learning agreement, there will be no
automatic approval and you will have to apply to your faculty for
approval of the courses you have taken abroad.
Students entering
Norway
Students entering Norway on an ERASMUS exchange programme must
bring along a completed learning agreement that has been signed by
the sending institution, Diakonhjemmet University College and the
student him/herself. Diakonhjemmet University College will arrange
matters so that the student shall be able to complete his/her
period of study in accordance with the specifications of the
learning agreement, and will issue a Transcript of Records at the
close of the period of study.
Diploma Supplement
The Diploma Supplement (DS) is an international document drawn up
in accordance with guidelines from the EU and related to a diploma
from an institute of higher learning. The purpose of the supplement
is to provide sufficient independent data to improve the
international 'transparency' and a fair academic and professional
recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates
etc.). It is designed to provide a description of the nature,
level, context, content and status of the studies that were pursued
and successfully completed by a student. It is only valid together
with the actual diploma.
Diakonhjemmet University College issues a Diploma Supplement (DS)
in English, free of charge to every student upon graduation.
